Results of the presidential and legislative elections in the Democratic Republic of Congo are awaited after an unscheduled day-long ballot extension. Some opposition candidates have called for a rerun due to the extension, while voting disruptions and violence have raised concerns about the credibility of the results. The national election commission (CENI) has set up a results centre in Kinshasa and plans to publish provisional results starting from Friday.
