Taiwan rushes to prevent China from cutting internet, phones

Taiwan’s ministry of digital affairs wants the island to be more resilient to communications breakdowns and direct attacks on its digital infrastructure, but such measures may prove difficult as total failure of all communications, banking and trading has occurred in the past during natural disasters. The ministry’s target is to bolster the island’s infrastructure to withstand the collapse of all its communications in the event of an emergency by the end of next year.
