Unacceptable that school students in Mumbai should pass through existing slums for want of a public DP road: HC
The Bombay High Court has ruled that the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) retains its powers over public Development Plan (DP) Roads, despite the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) being designated as the special planning authority for encroachments. The court has directed the BMC to begin removing encroachments to ensure a Marathi medium school at Deonar has proper road frontage access.
