ATS arrests suspect of international human trafficking racket

UP ATS arrests former student of Nadwa, Mohammed Abdul Awwal, from Nizamuddin railway station, Delhi. He opened accounts for Bangladesh and Myanmar nationals in a private bank for money from a Delhi-based NGO. The funds, amounting to Rs 20 crore in the past three years, are suspected to be used in anti-national activities and terror funding. Awwal met Abdul Gaffar in Delhi during the Covid outbreak in 2020, who motivated him to open these accounts. The ATS has arrested five individuals so far, including two from Bangalore, in connection with the international human trafficking racket.
