Delhi recorded the highest number of road crash fatalities in 2022, according to the 'Accidental Deaths and Suicides in India 2022' report by the National Crime Records Bureau. The city reported 5,387 road accidents, resulting in 1,412 fatalities. The report also highlighted that road accidents constituted 97.3 percent of the total accidents, with Delhi leading in railway accidents as well. Overall, the data showed that 17,680 people lost their lives in road accidents across 53 cities in India.
