Crimes by juveniles in Delhi are becoming a cause of concern. Surge in juvenile delinquency is attributed to socio-economic conditions, family dynamics, peer influence, and mental health disorders. Conduct disorders in children, marked by aggressive behavior, can be detected early. Early detection and counseling are crucial in preventing juvenile crime. Parents play a pivotal role in recognizing and correcting problematic behavior in children. Lack of communication, community, and emotional care affect children across socio-economic groups. Underlying trauma and exposure to age-inappropriate information/behaviors contribute to juvenile delinquency. Social media and peer pressure also have a negative impact.
