Brace for chaos, Sion ROB will be razed, rebuilt for 5th & 6th CR lines
Andheri's Gokhale bridge and Lower Parel's Delisle Road bridge have reopened, but the closure of Sion road overbridge (ROB) in Mumbai will cause congestion on other east-west connectors like Santacruz-Chembur Link Road. The Sion ROB will be razed and reconstructed to accommodate the fifth and sixth lines between CSMT and Kurla on the Central Railway (CR). The reconstruction is expected to take around 30 months. The CR has also proposed demolishing another ROB between Sion and Matunga after completing the Sion ROB work.
