In the Mamit district of Mizoram, political parties are not allowed to decorate the streets with campaign materials or hold door-to-door campaigns without permission from the Mizoram People's Forum (MPF). The MPF, which consists of two powerful NGOs, ensures a balanced campaign by organising joint platforms where candidates can deliver speeches and engage in a question and answer session. All political parties have signed an agreement with the MPF to carry out campaigns in a restrained way.
