NHRC seeks action taken report from Centre on homeless people
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has requested an action taken report from the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs and the Union ministry of home regarding the rehabilitation of homeless people and street children in India. The Commission has urged for integrated and comprehensive provisions for homeless people, access to health services, and basic hygiene. The NHRC has granted an opportunity for the secretaries of the ministries to submit the necessary reports within six weeks.
