Mumbai city guardian minister Deepak Kesarkar has suggested that the Mahalaxmi Racecourse and an amusement park can coexist on the BMC portion of the land, with a tunnel connecting them to the Coastal Road. This is the first time coexistence has been mentioned, as previous discussions had focused on relocating the racecourse. Kesarkar believes that ordinary people deserve entertainment as well, and proposed an amusement facility like the Mumbai Eye on the racecourse land. However, opinions differ on whether the racecourse land should be used for an amusement park or left open.
