Hospital deaths: 'State can't cite burden to shift onus to pvt sector'

The Bombay high court has criticized the state government for shifting responsibility onto private players in response to deaths in state-run hospitals. The court took suo motu cognizance of the deaths that occurred in Nanded and Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and demanded details from the government. The judges also expressed concern over the decline in budgetary allocation for public healthcare in the state. The court directed the state to appoint a CEO for the procurement authority within two weeks.
