Lake levels rise to 15% but water cuts to stay in Mumbai

Water stock at the seven lakes, which supply water to the city, has been recorded at 2,22,868 million litres, which is about 15.4% of the full supply level i.e., 1,44,7363 million litres. This shows an improvement compared to the water levels on the same date last year when it was 1,70, 520 million litres i.e., 11.78%. And, earlier in 2021, it stood at 2,80,271 million litres, i.e., 19.36 % of the full supply level. However, this does not mean immediate withdrawal of water cut imposed in the city from July 1. A senior official said the water cut may not be withdrawn immediately.
