Narrow entry and exit staircases and protruding electricity wires are common sights at coaching centres in Mukherjee Nagar adjoining Delhi University's North Campus. On Thursday, a fire in one such building forced students to jump down and injure themselves. It is such a travesty that students who shell out around Rs 2 lakh as fees for 18-24 months of coaching study in such abysmal conditions.
