A pre-term or prematurely born baby comes under the definition of newborn in the context of insurance, the Bombay high court ruled on Wednesday, and directed New India Assurance Company (NIAC) to pay Rs 11 lakh with 9% simple interest to a Jogeshwari resident to reimburse the spending on her premature twins.
