The UGC has warned edtech companies and colleges against offering degrees in collaboration with unrecognized foreign universities. None of these degrees will be valid, and students are cautioned against taking admission in such courses. The UGC Secretary, Manish Joshi, stated that the commission does not recognize collaboration with foreign institutions, and the degrees issued as a result are also not recognized. Edtech companies advertising online degree programs in association with foreign universities are also warned that such arrangements are not permissible and will face action. Students and the public are advised to be cautious and enroll at their own risk.
