IIT Bhilai researchers working towards more efficient, cost-effective solar energy

Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bhilai have developed a method to make solar energy production more efficient. The team has been testing the use of reduced graphene oxide (rGO) to increase the efficiency of solar cells made of layered halide perovskite. While the material is cheaper and more efficient than using silicon, production of perovskite is hindered by moisture instability. The IIT Bhilai study, supported by the Department of Science and Technology, found that rGO may help overcome this issue and increase the viability of perovskite for solar energy production.
