54k students admitted under RTE Act in round 1 in Gujarat
Over 54,000 children have been admitted to Class 1 under the Right to Education Act, 2009, with 27,917 RTE reserved seats still unfilled in the state, which will be filled in the second round. Under the RTE Act, private primary schools have to admit 25% students from financially weaker families. Last year, nearly 71,396 children were admitted in seats reserved for them under the act.
