Total value of Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation declined to Rs 8470 crore
As of February 29, 2024, the total value of Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation has declined to Rs 8470 crore. 97.6 percent of the Rs 2000 banknotes in circulation have been returned. The RBI provides facilities for exchange and deposit of Rs 2000 banknotes. It is important to note that the Rs 2000 banknotes continue to be legal tender.
