Gun manufacturer Smith & Wesson has opened its new headquarters in Tennessee after relocating from Massachusetts. The move was prompted by proposed legislation in Massachusetts that would restrict the company's ability to manufacture certain weapons. The new 650,000-square feet facility in Maryville is part of a $125 million relocation plan and is expected to create hundreds of jobs. Smith & Wesson President and CEO, Mark Smith, praised Tennessee's regulatory environment and collaboration with the state government as key factors in the decision to move. Tennessee has recently implemented looser gun restrictions.
