CM Eknath Shinde stated that the Mumbai Coastal Road is set to be completed by May 2024. The project's cost increased due to alignment changes demanded by Worli fishermen. Despite delays caused by court orders, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the Koli fisherman agitation, the project's cost remained unaffected. The increase was mainly due to additional works and the rise in central goods and services tax. CM Shinde did not mention toll collection on the Coastal Road in his reply to the legislative council.
