The Delhi government has restarted the smog tower at Connaught Place after eight months of being inactive. The tower was reopened in response to a Supreme Court directive to control air pollution in the city. The tower had been defunct for seven months and required cleaning and maintenance before operation. A recent report from IIT Bombay showed that the smog tower was able to reduce PM2.5 and PM10 levels by a significant percentage. The Delhi government has also called for a united action plan with neighboring states and the central government to address pollution effectively.
