A 32-year-old man in Delhi has been sentenced to 12 years of rigorous imprisonment for aggravated sexual assault of a minor under the Pocso Act. The court deemed the convict as having a perverse mind and not deserving of leniency. The court also sentenced him to five years of rigorous imprisonment for criminal intimidation. The judge stated that the penalty should serve as a deterrent. The convict's plea of mental illness was rejected by the court. The identity of the victim has been protected as per Supreme Court directives.
