The Competition Commission of India (CCI) has proposed draft leniency plus regulations to encourage companies under investigation for cartelization to provide information about other cartels. The regulations offer incentives such as a reduction in monetary fines of up to 30% for the first cartel and up to 100% for newly disclosed cartels. The aim is to promote fair competition by incentivizing companies to cooperate with antitrust authorities. The CCI has invited stakeholders to submit comments on the draft regulations by November 6. The identity of the applicant and the information provided will be kept confidential.
