The practice of not taking leave from work is still seen as a virtue, despite the importance of work-life balance. This mindset originates from a belief that not working is acceptable and even expected. However, this is an extreme interpretation of the "Protestant work ethic." Recently, two individuals, a teacher and a prime minister, received praise for not taking holidays.
