Indian shares were steady on Tuesday ahead of key macroeconomic data and as corporate earnings reports flooded in, following a sharp rise earlier this week. Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services, said that the US inflation rate could impact the global market trend amid worries that the Fed will remain stricter for longer. The Nifty 50 closed marginally higher at 18,265.95 and the S&P BSE Sensex ended at 61,761.33 points.
