India is targeting net-zero emissions by 2070, a goal that is economically viable and comparable to the commitments of industrialized nations, including China and OECD countries, which have significantly delayed their own net-zero targets. Despite being the third-largest global emitter, India's emissions are relatively low in per capita terms, making its enhanced commitments, which include short-, medium-, and long-term accountability measures, ambitious and useful.
