France demands release of citizen Vinatier held in Russia
France demanded Russia release French researcher Laurent Vinatier following a significant prisoner exchange. Vinatier faces up to five years in prison after pleading guilty to not registering as a foreign agent. The French foreign ministry also called for the immediate release of other arbitrarily detained individuals in Russia as they welcomed the release of 16 prisoners.
