The Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen claimed that they had shot down another American MQ-9 drone on May 21. The Houthis did not say when the downing took place but alleged the drone “was carrying out hostile missions” over the southern province of Bayda. Yahya Saree also boasted of the growing Houthi capabilities against Western weapons. According to the spokesperson, this was be the second MQ-9 Reaper drone downed by the Houthis over the past week.
