The 'Allied Spirit 24' exercise continued on March 16 at the training facilities of the US Army in Hohenfels, Germany. The large-scale exercise, led by the US Army, focuses on forces readiness and interoperability between NATO and its key partners. It is also a part of the multinational 'QUADRIGA 2024' exercise, the largest exercise of German land forces since the start of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.Only 20% of this year's exercise participants are from the U.S. Army, with the German Army's 41st Panzergrenadier Brigade being the main training audience. "And they're doing an outstanding job at developing their plans and executing their plans to conduct combined arms in a close fight," said U.S. Major and Public Affairs Officer, John J. Ambelang.Following Russia's invasion of Ukraine, NATO has stepped up its military presence on its eastern flank, which was further strengthened by the recent accession of Finland and Sweden to the military alliance.
