Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu and chief of staff Valery Gerasimov have voted in the presidential election, the Defence Ministry said on March 15.The ministry released a video clip of both top generals casting their ballots at a polling station in the Southern Military District of Russia but did not specify where they voted.The Southern Military District includes several regions, including four Ukrainian areas annexed by Russia in 2022: Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. The district's headquarters is located in the city of Rostov-on-Don and serves as a command centre for what Russia calls a special military operation.Polling stations have opened across Russia on Friday as voting starts in the presidential election in a ballot that is held across three days.
