“Rigged…” US, UK Leaders Question Pakistan’s Elections, Both Imran Khan & Nawaz Sharif Claim Victory

The US, UK and the EU have expressed “serious concerns” and urged a probe into reported irregularities in Pakistan’s elections. They released separate statements in the wake of February 8 general elections in Pakistan. The elections have been marred with allegations of interference, rigging of ballot boxes and arrests of activists affiliated to Imran Khan’s PTI.The main battle was between former PM Nawaz Sharif's party and candidates backed by ex-PM Imran Khan. Elections were held for 265 seats in the national assembly and a political party needs 133 seats for a simple majority.
