Zimbabwe bets on no till farming to reduce El Nino impact on grain

Zimbabwe anticipates a maize harvest of 2.28 million metric tons this year, sufficient to meet its annual consumption. This success is attributed to the adoption of farming practices aimed at mitigating the effects of climate change, including techniques like no-till farming and water harvesting. Deputy agriculture minister Vangelis Haritatos informed Reuters, "The implementation of water harvesting techniques, soil and moisture conservation, along with minimal soil disturbance, has resulted in a favorable crop yield across the country."
