'Exercise restraint', China tells Iran, Pakistan amid rising tensions after missile attack

China urged Pakistan and Iran to exercise restraint and maintain peace after Iran's missile attacks on Balochistan. Earlier today, Pakistan recalled its ambassador from Iran and suspended high-level visits. China also emphasized on upholding international norms and respecting sovereignty. Iran said the targeted bases belonged to the Baloch militant group Jaish al-Adl (JAI). China urged both countries to avoid any action that would lead to escalate tensions and maintain peace in the region. Jaish al-Adl, or the "Army of Justice", is a Sunni militant group founded in 2012 that largely operates in Pakistan.
