Pak's poll body challenges HC verdict on Imran Khan's party's internal elections

Pakistan's top poll body, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), filed a plea in the Supreme Court against the Peshawar High Court (PHC) verdict that declared its decision on Imran Khan's party unconstitutional. The PHC had revoked the cricket 'bat' electoral symbol and rejected the party's organisational polls. In response, the PTI party filed a contempt of court petition against the ECP for failing to comply with the PHC's order. The developments come ahead of the general elections scheduled on February 8.
