A law that launched 2,500 sex abuse suits is expiring. It's left a trail of claims vs. celebs, jails

A New York law that allowed for lawsuits against famous men accused of sexual misconduct will expire after Thanksgiving. The law has resulted in over 2,500 lawsuits; many filed by women who say they were sexually abused while serving time in prisons and jails. The Adult Survivors Act was intended to give traumatized adults a chance to seek accountability from institutions and powerful individuals. However, after the law expires, people will once again be barred from suing over abuse that happened many years ago.
