Kenya's economy faces climate change risks: World Bank

Kenya's economy could lose up to seven percent of its GDP by 2050 if it does not adapt to the impacts of climate change, according to the World Bank. The country is highly vulnerable to climate disasters, such as droughts and floods, which have already had a significant impact on its agriculture sector. In addition, the number of poor people in Kenya could increase by 1.1 million by 2050. The government will need $62 billion by 2030 to adapt its economy to climate challenges.
