Russia jails an associate of imprisoned Kremlin foe Navalny as crackdown on dissent continues

Ksenia Fadeyeva, an associate of imprisoned Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny, has been jailed in the Siberian city of Tomsk pending trial on extremism charges. Fadeyeva, who used to run Navalny's office in Tomsk, has been charged with running an extremist group and promoting activities that infringe on people's rights. This is part of an ongoing crackdown. Navalny himself was convicted earlier this year on extremism charges and sentenced to 19 years in prison.
