Nicaragua pardons, returns 21 Hondurans, including MS-13 gang leader
Nicaragua has pardoned and returned 21 Honduran prisoners, including a leader of the MS-13 gang, to Honduras. The transfer was part of Nicaragua's plan to return prisoners to its neighboring countries, with a similar transfer involving 43 prisoners having taken place earlier in October. The leader of MS-13, David Elias Campbell Licona, also known as "El Viejo Dan", had been wanted by Honduran and US authorities on various charges including money laundering, and drug-related offenses.
