Northeast China blizzards cancel flights, force school closures

Northeast China, particularly the province of Heilongjiang, has been hit by unseasonably cold weather and blizzards. Flights have been cancelled, schools have closed, and heavy snowfall is expected in several provinces. The Central Meteorological Observatory has warned of a drastic drop in temperature and issued orange alerts for blizzards and cold waves. The cold weather has also prompted preparations for early heat supply in Beijing and Tianjin. This comes after the region experienced a sharp drop in temperatures following a warm October.
