Judge, citing Trump's 'repeated public statements,' orders anonymous jury in defamation suit trial

A federal judge in New York has ordered that the jury in a defamation lawsuit against former President Donald Trump will be anonymous. The judge cited Trump's "repeated public statements" as a reason for the jury to be given anonymity, as well as the extensive media coverage surrounding the case. The trial, set for January, stems from a lawsuit filed by a writer who alleges that Trump sexually abused her in the 1990s. Another jury, also anonymous, previously awarded damages to a columnist who accused Trump of sexual abuse.
