An alliance of ethnic rebel groups in Myanmar has launched a coordinated offensive to seize military targets in areas near the Chinese border. The Arakan Army, Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army, and the Ta'ang National Liberation Army, known as the Three Brotherhood Alliance, have initiated "Operation 1027" in Myanmar's Shan state. The groups aim to safeguard civilians, assert their right to self-defense, and respond to ongoing attacks by the military government.
