Hackers affiliated with the activist group Anonymous targeted multiple government webpages in Guatemala in support of Indigenous-led demonstrations. The hackers used distributed denial-of-service attacks to flood the webpages with automated traffic until they crashed. The attacks come after weeks of protests calling for the resignation of Guatemalan Attorney General Consuelo Porras, whom demonstrators accuse of undermining the popular vote.
