Bangladesh gets first uranium shipment from Russia for nuclear power plant

Bangladesh has received its first shipment of uranium fuel from Russia for its debut nuclear power plant, making it the 33rd country in the world to produce nuclear power. The project, being built in collaboration with Russian company Rosatom, is financed mostly through a Russian loan. Construction has faced delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Western sanctions.
