US surgeons perform second pig heart transplant, trying to save a dying man

Surgeons in Maryland have successfully transplanted a pig's heart into a dying man, only the second time such a procedure has been performed. The 58-year-old patient, who was ineligible for a traditional heart transplant, showed positive signs of recovery just two days after the surgery. The transplant was carried out by the same team that performed the world's first genetically modified pig heart transplant last year.
