Hundreds of Haitians fleeing gangs set up camp around main square

Hundreds of Haitians have set up camp in the main square of the capital city, Port-au-Prince, due to ongoing violence and attacks by armed gangs. The Gran Ravine gang, led by Renel Destina, has besieged the Carrefour Feuilles neighborhood, forcing people to flee their homes. The under-resourced police have struggled to contain the violence. The UN Security Council is expected to vote on a plan to send international security assistance to Haiti.
