Indian-origin women in UK given radioactive chapatis in 60s? MP seeks probe

A UK Labour Party MP has called for a statutory inquiry into medical research from the 1960s that involved giving Indian-origin women chapatis containing radioactive isotopes. The study aimed to combat iron deficiency and involved 21 women in Coventry. The MP expressed concern for the impacted women and families and intends to call for a debate and full inquiry into the matter. An independent inquiry was previously conducted in 1995.
