New Zealand PM heads to China with 2 jets due to breakdown fears

New Zealand PM Chris Hipkins took a second air force jet with him to China as a backup in case of any mechanical problems. Opposition parties criticized the move, with some calling the emissions produced by the backup plane an environmental embarrassment. The 757s used are around 30 years old and are nearing the end of their usable lives, due to be replaced between 2028 and 2030.
