China to send first civilian into space on Tuesday

China is set to launch its first civilian astronaut into space as part of a crewed mission to the Tiangong space station on Tuesday. All Chinese astronauts to date have been members of the People's Liberation Army. Payload expert Gui Haichao of Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics is set to join Jing Haipeng, commander on his fourth mission, and engineer Zhu Yangzhu on the mission.
