Today's emergency alert test on phones 'can be simply swiped away'
A new public alert system will emit a loud alarm on millions of mobile phones at 3pm today . The Government says it is designed to warn the public if there is a danger to life nearby and will last for 10 seconds, but you can opt out of hearing it.
