Inspite of having a positive Net Run Rate (NRR), the Scorchers are bottom of the table with 3 wins and 6 defeats in 9 games, and their last league game is against fellow-strugglers Adelaide Strikers, who have two games in-hand.

The win also means that they have now officially qualified for the BBL 14 Finals, leaving one spot vacant, which is tightly-contested by Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat.
Adelaide Strikers and Melbourne Renegades currently have an outside chance, but by the looks of it, and also considering the current form, Melbourne Stars are all but through to the BBL 14 Finals.
